Offering one stop shop for various applications
Yahoo has introduced several new applications and widgets from third-party web developers on to its Homepage, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Connected TV and Zimbra.
The move comes as a part of its Open Strategy to enable users browse various applications through its websites and eliminate the need to move away to other places on web.
Yahoo is introducing PayPal application into Yahoo Mail to help people conduct online transactions. Yahoo Mail also claims to offer its users the option to install the Picnik, a photo sharing and editing application, and ZumoDrive, for e-mailing large files.
The company also added personal finance service Mint.com to help users mange their finances, and an application from WordPress to enable users to post and update their blogs through the Yahoo network. In addition, the company has added nearly 20 new widgets to its various sites.
Earlier in 2008, Yahoo has made a commitment to re-wire Yahoo!, including adding new platforms that add social functionality across the Yahoo! network and to integrate content and services from third-party developers and publishers.
