Yahoo has appointed Ken Fuchs, an executive at Time Inc, a Time Warner company, to oversee its sports, games and entertainment online units. He will join Yahoo on April 5.

According to an internal memo received by Reuters, Fuchs was most recently vice president of digital distribution and emerging platforms at Time Inc.

Prior to joining Time Inc, Fuchs was vice president of Strategy and Development at Fox Interactive Media - Revenue Group. Before this, he was director of Business Development at Sports Illustrated.

Yahoo has also announced that Luke Beatty, who founded Associated Content, will take on a bigger role running the community sites and Yahoo's local efforts. Yahoo purchased Associated Content in summer 2010.

These announcements follow Yahoo's hiring of Mickie Rosen, a former Fox Interactive executive, as SVP of the Yahoo Media Network in early January.

Mickie Rosen said in the memo the company is also creating a new editor-in-chief position which will focus on "programing initiatives" including "content mix" and "social marketing" across Yahoo's various online businesses.
