Pinterest introduces analytics tool

CBR Staff Writer Published 12 March 2013

A new tool on social network Pinterest aims to help businesses by displaying data on how many people have pinned from a site.

Online scrapbooking site Pinterest tool will display how many people have pinned from a site, how many people have seen the pinsand how many people visited the respective sites from Pinterest.

The company said bloggers, businesses, and organisations often ask it what are people pinning from my websites. "These website owners help create the content on Pinterest and we wanted to help them understand which pieces of content people find most interesting," Pinterest added in a statement.

Pinterest said the new tool builds on the set of techniques it offers for website owners including business accounts, Pin It buttons and board widgets.

The company is planning to introduce new tools over the coming months.

Last month, Pinterest secured $200m in a new round of funding, raising its valuation to $2.5bn, up from $1.5bn, with the site's global visits reportedly reached 48 million during 2012.
