Harris introduces FR6822+QXFE frame

It claims to provide broadcasters with advanced baseline communication

Harris has introduced the FR6822+QXFE frame, the new addition to the 6800+ modular core processing platform.

Featuring an integrated web server, the FR6822+QXFE frame is claimed to provide broadcasters with advanced baseline communication and superior network control via ethernet.

According to Harris, the FR6822+QXFE frame is equipped with an integrated ethernet resource card that offers instant, free HTTP protocol support as standard for all 6800+ processing options - including multiplexing, advanced audio, compression, distribution, reference, frame sync and HD conversion - without operating system restrictions or software installation delays.

The frame is expected to support the Harris CCS Navigator control and monitoring application, as well as Harris Q-SEE monitoring technology, including thumbnails, customizable alarms, waveform and vectorscope monitoring, and MPEG-4 streaming.

Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications, said: The new FR6822+QXFE frame enables a streamlined operational workflow through easy, online access to network configuration and control, and troubleshooting and modification tools. For our customers who own previous-generation Harris FR6802+QXF frames, the backward-compatible design of the new frame enables those users to reap the benefits of the HTTP control by simply plugging in the new ethernet resource module.
