Photos of the CEO were downloaded and posted on the image sharing site Imgur

A bug in the social network site Facebook was exposed as it allowed private photos of CEO Mark Zuckerberg to be downloaded.

Fourteen photos of Zuckerberg in his private moments were downloaded and posted on the image sharing site Imgur under the headline 'It's time to fix those security flaws Facebook'.

People commenting about his on the Hacker News site said that the issue raised pertinent questions on Facebook's security.

A Facebook spokesperson said the flaw was a result of a recent code push and was live for a limited period of time. "Not all content was accessible, rather a small number of one's photos," the spokesperson added.

Facebook said the system which allowed the bug has been changed.
