Digital video monetisation revenues reach $12.5bn in 2012: report

Market for digital video advertisers and virtual storefront merchandisers is projected to rise by 35.2% in 2013.

Revenue generated through digital video monetisation reached $12.55bn in 2012, a nine-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 56.6%, according to a new report.

AccuStream Research's Digital Video Monetisation report: revealed that in 2004, the media business generated $347m.

The report also revealed that the market for digital video advertisers and virtual storefront merchandisers is projected to rise by 35.2% in 2013

During the period, video advertising, which has led the market's overall growth since 2005, is forecast to capture a 60% share of the ecosystem's total value.

Other areas including movie/television subscription streaming services and digital PPV storefronts generated a nine-year CAGR of about 106.5% over 50.1% rise in total paid segment revenues.

The video advertising sector rose at a CAGR of 62%, while the overall advertising and paid video content marketplace is set to double in size and revenue by 2015.
