Livescribe will rebrand the product as the 'Livescribe Wi-Fi Smartpen' on 1 March 2013.
British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) has settled its trademark infringement case with digital pen maker, Livescribe.
Both firms said in a joint statement that Livescribe had accepted that the smartpen infringed BSkyB's trademark and will be rebranded as the 'Livescribe Wi-Fi Smartpen'.
A BSkyB spokesman said that the company was pleased to have reached a settlement with Livescribe after Livescribe agreed not to contest Sky's court action.
"We will remain vigilant in protecting the Sky brand and will continue to take appropriate action against those companies who seek to use our trade mark without consent," the spokesman said.
In December 2012, the Satellite broadcaster had sued Livescribe claiming that the digital pen maker's Sky Wi-Fi Smartpen breached its 'Sky' trademarks.
The move had also halted sales of Livescribe's product in UK stores.
Livescribe said in a statement that Livescribe does not offer any goods or services similar to those of Sky and had no intention of infringing Sky's rights.
"We moved quickly to settle and look forward to launching the rebranded product as "Livescribe Wi-Fi Smartpen" in the European Union on 1 March 2013," Livescribe said.
Livescribe's digital pen is claimed to be the first to incorporate Wi-Fi technology and cloud services.
