15,000 songs are downloaded per minute on the iTunes store.
Apple's iTunes music store has seen 25 billion song downloads over the decade since it launched iTunes store in April 2003.
Apple Internet Software and Services senior vice president Eddy Cue said: "Averaging over 15,000 songs downloaded per minute, the iTunes Store connects music fans with their favorite artists, including global sensations like Adele and Coldplay and new artists like The Lumineers, on a scale we never imagined possible."
iTunes in the Cloud will allow downloading already purchased iTunes music to the cloud at no additional cost. In addition, new music purchases can be downloaded directly to iOS devices.
Last month the company said that there had been 40 billion unique application downloads from its App Store since its launch in 2008.
According to the firm, 20 billion of the 40 billion apps were downloaded in 2012 alone.
Recently, Apple was crowned the top mobile phone vendor in the US over its shipments of 17.7 million phones during the fourth quarter of 2012.
